Publication Ethics

International Journal of Informatics and Systems Technology (IJIST) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards throughout the publication process. This publication ethics statement is based on the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and serves as a guideline for authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers in fulfilling their respective roles and responsibilities.

Author Responsibilities

Authors must ensure that their submitted manuscript is original and has not been previously published or is currently under consideration by any other journal. Authors are required to present their data, methodologies, and research findings honestly and accurately, without fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of digital data and experimental results.

Authors must appropriately cite all sources used in their work following standard scientific citation practices. All individuals who have made significant intellectual contributions to the research must be listed as co-authors, while those who provided technical support or limited assistance should be acknowledged in the "Acknowledgements" section.

Authors are also required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest, such as research funding or institutional affiliations, that could influence the interpretation or presentation of the research.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are responsible for providing objective, fair, constructive, and timely evaluations of assigned manuscripts. Reviewers must maintain the absolute confidentiality of all information contained within the manuscript and must not use the content for personal benefit.

Reviewers are expected to provide feedback that helps authors improve the technical and scientific quality of their papers. They must also inform the editors of any indications of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data manipulation, or other ethical violations.

Reviewers must recuse themselves from the review process if any conflict of interest exists that could compromise the objectivity of their evaluation.

Editor Responsibilities

Editors are responsible for making independent editorial decisions based on the scientific quality, novelty, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal's focus and scope, as well as the feedback from reviewers.

Editors must not discriminate against authors based on race, gender, religion, nationality, institutional affiliation, or political views. Editors are required to maintain the confidentiality of the entire editorial process and must not disclose any information about a manuscript to unauthorized parties.

If an ethical violation is suspected, editors will conduct an investigation and take necessary action in accordance with COPE guidelines and journal policies.

Publisher Responsibilities

As the publisher of IJIST, AREAS Press is committed to safeguarding academic integrity, publication transparency, and editorial independence. The publisher supports editors and reviewers in addressing suspected publication misconduct and ensures that the entire publishing process complies with accepted scientific ethics standards.

Plagiarism

IJIST does not tolerate any form of plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are screened using similarity checking software. Any manuscript found to contain plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or other ethical misconduct will be rejected immediately, or retracted if the paper has already been published.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the objectivity of the publication process. Conflicts of interest can include financial relationships, research funding, professional or institutional affiliations, or personal relationships that may introduce bias.

Corrections and Retractions

If significant errors or ethical violations are discovered after publication, IJIST reserves the right to issue a correction, clarification, or a retraction of the article based on the severity of the issue and COPE standards.

By submitting a manuscript to IJIST, all authors are deemed to have understood and agreed to the publication ethics policies of this journal.
